Latest high-tech lasers and latest diagnostic technologies in the LZW

Tracey iTRACE™

Premium diagnostics through highest precision in the LZW

Measurements with the Tracey iTrace™ diagnostic device are a central part of the preoperative examinations at the LZW. It ensures measurement at the highest level and serves to improve the accuracy of diagnosis, lens selection, lens implantation and the predictability of postoperative visual performance.

APT: Advanced Personalized Treatment

For a successful LASIK operation, a thorough preliminary examination of the eyes is crucial. The LZW uses the so-called APT system for this:

It ensures an extremely precise diagnosis, a very safe LASIK and, as a result, the best possible quality of vision for our patients.

Thanks to APT, pupils usually no longer need to be dilated during the preliminary examination, for eye measurements and to determine the visual impairment. The system calculates how the cornea of each individual eye needs to be lasered so that the patient can see as well as possible. The LASIK laser retrieves this data directly from our systems during the operation.
Thanks to the precise diagnosis, excessive or insufficient removal of the cornea, i.e. over- or under-correction of visual defects, is avoided.

ACE - Dynamic rotation eye tracker

With the ACE/DRET system integrated into the Zyoptix laser system, the LZW relies on absolute high-tech LASIK.

Like a fingerprint, a person's iris is unique and unmistakable. The Zyoptix-100 system creates a digital "map" of the iris, which forms the basis of the multidimensional eye tracker.

The eye tracker (ACE) records eye movements in all directions (x and y axes) during the operation in a fraction of a second, as well as up/down movements of the head (z axis). The system compares the position of the iris with the digital "map" stored on it and can thus automatically compensate for movements during LASIK (3D eye tracking).

The dynamic rotational eye tracker (DRET) also compensates for additional rotational or rolling movements of the eye. Thanks to the ACE/DRET system, the laser works with a previously unattained level of precision, especially in cases of astigmatism or pure nearsightedness or farsightedness.

excimer laser TENEO II

  • Treatment 3x faster than with 1 mm spots: This is made possible by the combination of 1 and 2 mm laser spots. The eye tissue is less stressed and the corneal surface becomes smoother.
  • Rest for the eyes: The ergonomic shape of the laser allows the eye to recover better between pulses, allowing our patients to relax.
  • Reduced follow-up treatment rate: The calculation of laser ablation using the so-called Advanced Nomogram avoids over- and under-corrections.
  • More precise eye tracking: The large distance from the laser head to the eye and very precise eye tracking systems make the laser beam less dependent on eye or head movements during LASIK.
  • Personalized iris recognition: The Zyoptix system stores a digital "map" of the iris along with the individual treatment information. The system automatically recognizes the iris and always operates on the correct eye.
